Assoc.Prof.Dr. Daniela Faur

Photo FaurDaniela FAUR, PhD in Electrical Engineering, PUB.  Her fields of interest include sensors and transducers, Earth Observation (EO) data processing and information theory. She holds a professorship in electrical engineering and information theory with PUB since 2002. She is involved in national and European research grants in the field of remote sensing data mining and knowledge based image understanding with applications in disaster and humanitarian crisis management.  In 2012 she performed an internship  as a visiting fellow with the Remote Sensing Technology Institute (IMF) of DLR (German Aerospace Center), in Oberffafenhofen, Germany. She led as project manager: GEODIM (Platform for Geo-information in Support of Disaster Management), LEOSITS (Long Term Data Exploitation for Satellite Image Time Series - Extraction of Classes for Scene Dynamic) and VATEO (Visual Analytics Tool for Earth Observation Images) and acted as a  senior scientist in national or international research grants in the field of EO data mining.
