Florin Şerban
Florin Serban founded in 2007 the Advanced Studies and Research Center, whose Managing Director he is. He received his MS Degree in Applied Electronics in Laser Physics in 1988. He got his PhD in Optical and Radar Satellite Data Fusion in 2000 from the Technical Military Academy in Bucharest. From 1988 to 1992 he was an electronics engineer involved in developing switching mode power supplies for laser rangefinders with the Institute of Physics and Technology of Radiation Devices in Bucharest. From 1992 to 1995 he worked as a scientist in the Remote Sensing Department of the Institute for Optoelectronics in Bucharest being responsible for developing algorithms, techniques and processing chains for various operational applications using remote sensing data. In 1995 he joined the ROSA as a researcher in the field of digital image processing and between 2003 and 2006 he was Chief Technologist. From 2000 to 2006 he was a consultant for the European Space Agency being responsible with developing LEOWorks - image processing software for educational purposes.
