Dan Alexandru STOICHESCU received the M.Sc. (1965) and PhD (1981) degrees in Electronics and Telecommunications from the Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest. After three years experience in industry (1965 – 1968), he joined the Department of Applied Electronics and Information Engineering from the University Politehnica of Bucharest. Currently, he is a professor for Information Transmission Theory and Control Systems courses and the coordinator of the Control Systems Group. He developed a new laboratory for automatic control in electronics and telecommunications (UPB), a new laboratory for electrical circuits in telecommunications (Institute for telecommunications - Oran, Algeria) and participated to the development of the laboratory for information transmission theory (UPB) and the laboratory of industrial electronics (University of Pitesti). He was coordinator for 9 national and international research projects. Professor Stoichescu is author/coauthor of more than 70 journal articles or conference papers and 15 books.
